When we opened the doors to Vasse Strength and Conditioning on June 18, 2018, we knew one thing… if we were going to build something that lasted, it couldn’t just be another exercise facility.

I mean I had been in Fitness up until this point as a Group Fitness instructor, Personal Training, Membership salesman and a Coach. This was the first time though that we would be creating something we believed in for ourselves and the community, and the fitness industry is a crowded space.

Everyone is promising fat loss, strength gains, and a great community. It is what the book Blue Ocean Strategy calls a “Red Ocean”, a place where businesses compete on the same ideas, constantly circling each other like sharks.

But we didn’t want to play that game. We weren’t interested in just offering more of the same.

So, from day one, we committed to becoming a Blue Ocean facility, our attempt at something fresh, unblooded, and unlike anything else in the Southwest.

The way we chose to do that? Through education.

A commitment to life long, never losing, always learning, practise makes permanent, education.

The birth of ‘LBE – Learn. Build. Execute.’

If you’ve ever stepped foot in our facility, you’ve seen these three letters on the whiteboard
What we call LBE, is more than a mantra. It’s the philosophy that guides everything we do.

The goal isn’t to just train you. It is to teach you.

We don’t just shout cues. We build progressions.

We don’t just test for the sake of competition. We give you a reason to execute, to prove to yourself that you’ve grown.

LBE isn’t a marketing slogan. It’s not something we shout about in every post. It’s something our members feel. They know they’re not just working out. They’re building knowledge, skills, and physical capacity they’ll carry for life.

Really education can change everything. Fitness can feel overwhelming. Movements can be intimidating. Results can seem far away. But when you understand what you’re doing, have a chance to see it, learn what it is. When you’re coached to learn, supported to build, and challenged to execute, everything changes.

It’s what we have always aimed to be the difference.

This philosophy doesn’t stop at the whiteboard, it’s built into how we program every week.

Here is how a typical training week looks as we focus on Strength and Conditioning as our base.

  • 3 days per week mix strength with conditioning – the kind of sessions that build capability and push your limits.
  • 1 dedicated Workshop Day – where the focus is on learning new skills, improving movement quality, and refining technique.
  • 1 long, sustained piece – a test of effort and engine that challenges your mental and physical stamina.
  • 1 optional effort-based day – where the goal is simple: work hard, learn how to dig deep, and enjoy the simplicity of showing up with intensity.

Every single day is programmed with purpose. We want you to learn, to build capacity, and to eventually execute at a level you didn’t think was possible.

Recently we have had new members, and even old ones, tell us exactly that. That what sets VSC apart isn’t just our programming or our equipment, it’s the clarity they gain. The way they’re coached to see a process, understand there is a process, and that through work, with faith and consistent building, they keep improving and that is what really does make the fitness journey enjoyable.

So, that is how we have always planned to be swimming in a blue ocean.

Unfortunately, the truth is not everyone is ready for this. LBE takes time. It takes patience. It asks more of you than a generic class with random reps and loud music. But if you’re willing to learn, if you want to build real skill, real strength, and real confidence, We, VSC is ready for you. No matter where you are at.
