Why Showing Up Matters More Than Anything You Can Imagine!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Welcome to 2025, where, <em>when it comes to fitness, everyone is looking for the magic bullet<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The perfect program. The right diet.  The quick hack that promises to unlock strength, speed, and energy overnight, with minimal actual effort.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But here\u2019s the truth, all professionals are screaming from the rooftops that most people don\u2019t want to hear&#8230; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>None of that matters if you don\u2019t show up.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Vasse Strength and Conditioning, we\u2019ve seen the same pattern play out time and time again. The people who achieve extraordinary results aren\u2019t always the ones with the biggest lifts or the most \u201cnatural talent.\u201d They\u2019re the ones who consistently walk through the door, week after week, month after month, year after year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this blog post, I want to cover the emotional rollercoaster that is the start of a new identity and fitness journey, and how you can truly unlock the secret to success: consistency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Emotional Rollercoaster of Starting Out<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In the early stages of any fitness journey, decisions are <strong>emotional<\/strong>. Excitement is high. The idea of change feels energising. You\u2019d move mountains to get to your first few sessions because you can <em>see<\/em> the new version of yourself just ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But then something happens.<br>Human nature kicks in, and we begin to experience what is known as <strong>buyer\u2019s remorse.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gym that once felt exciting suddenly feels inconvenient. The workouts that were once thrilling now feel hard. The routine that looked like the answer begins to feel like a burden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And here\u2019s the paradox: this moment, when it all feels hardest, is the exact doorway to success you have been looking for!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Secret on the Other Side<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>When you push through this dip in desire with <strong>consistency<\/strong>, something powerful happens&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Workouts become part of your routine, not just an add-on.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Soreness becomes a signal of growth, not a reason to quit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your energy shifts from \u201cI have to do this\u201d to \u201cThis is who I am.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The secret to success isn\u2019t in avoiding buyer\u2019s remorse. It\u2019s in outlasting it. Like all good journeys! If you keep moving towards the destination, headfirst into the storm, the oasis is upon us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tips to Overcome the Dip<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>So how do you get through that critical stage where showing up feels hardest?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Focus on Frequency, Not Intensity<\/strong> <strong>and avoid comparison!<\/strong><br>Don\u2019t worry about smashing PBs, maxing out, or what others around you are doing. Just get in the room. Building unstoppable momentum requires attending 2\u20133 times per week without interruption, and a snowball effect will begin.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Anchor Your Why<\/strong><br>Remind yourself why you started. Write it down. Put it somewhere visible. When excuses creep in, your <em>why<\/em> is what pulls you back. Take Captain Cook, for example (you better know who this is!). When he sailed into the Pacific, he didn\u2019t know precisely what he\u2019d find. The maps were incomplete, the risks were high, and much of the journey was into uncharted waters. He didn\u2019t have certainty about the route, but he had clarity of purpose. His why was exploration and discovery. It wasn\u2019t his knowledge of where he was going that kept him going; it was his belief in why he was going. Your fitness journey is no different. You may not always know how the road will look, or exactly when results will show up. But when you anchor to your <em>why<\/em>, you\u2019ll keep moving forward long after motivation fades.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Lean Into Community<\/strong>&#8230; <strong>I repeat&#8230; LEAN INTO COMMUNITY!<br><\/strong>Talk to a coach. Connect with other members. Training with others keeps you accountable and makes the tough days more manageable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Shrink the Effort<\/strong><br>Tell yourself, <em>\u201cI\u2019ll just go and warm up.\u201d<\/em> 9 times out of 10, once you\u2019re there, you\u2019ll finish the session.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Celebrate Small Wins<\/strong><br>Did you train twice this week? That\u2019s a win. Did you show up even though you were tired? That\u2019s a win. Stack them up, and they add to something massive.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final Thought<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If there is anything I know, it is this. Anyone can train hard for a week. Anyone can ride the high of early excitement. But those who succeed long-term are the ones who keep showing up after doubt, desire, and buyer\u2019s remorse set in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consistency isn\u2019t sexy. It doesn\u2019t come with instant gratification. But it\u2019s the bridge from who you are now to who you want to become.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every time you walk through the doors of VSC, you\u2019re proving that you\u2019re not just chasing a feeling, you are building a habit, a lifestyle, and a stronger version of yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And that\u2019s why consistency will always be king.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So Get Up.
